SHIPPING

Packaging & Carriage

After work has been completed some of our customers require goods to be dispatched either to their premises or if they are an artist or trade customer to be dispatched directly to their clients either in one large single consignment or separately to individual addresses. Should you wish us to do the same for your business (Custom Frames Ltd branding will not be shown on any goods or packaging) we will be pleased to include your documentation or promotional material etc at the point of packaging.

Feel free to call us on 0115 979 4604 and we’ll be happy to listen to all your requirements and offer sensible and cost effective solutions.

If your frames or artwork are to be sent overseas, our experienced staff, will construct shipping crates specifically built for your goods. Sealed waterproof membranes can also be used to protect work from being water damaged in transit and all goods are packed to a high standard to withstand the rigours of shipping by air or sea.

For most U.K deliveries once requested by our customers we will package goods/frames using heavy duty packaging materials in order to prevent any possible damage whilst in transit. We use where applicable double fluted corrugated card, bubble wrap, corner protectors, foam and MDF. Prices vary for differing packages so contact our staff with sizes and weight should you require this service

Carriage/carriers can be sourced and provided by Custom Frames, if you wish for us to arrange this on your behalf (U.K Deliveries only) we do this as a curtsy passing on the carriers charge to you. Alternatively should you wish to arrange carriage through your own preferred carriers we can have packaged goods packaged and ready for collection. (This may be a better option for our clients with regular pick-ups or volume orders as carriers will often give special rates directly to you for this service).

Over the years of packaging and shipping, we have only had a handful of goods returned due to extreme miss-handling by some carriers.  Most carriers (if not all) will refuse insurance cover for the breakage of glass. If you do decide to ship a frame/s containing glass this must be shipped within a wooden crate as the sender (yourself) is legally responsible should any handler come to harm by broken glass.  If you require glazed frames to be dispatched within the UK mainland by typical UK carriers using heavy duty packaging we would only recommend the use of a good quality acrylic glazing for this purpose as opposed to glass

Our clients have the choice (once we have packaged goods) to either, [1]  Arrange their own preferred carriers and for them to collect the goods directly from our workshop in Bulwell or [2] Ask us to arrange this on their behalf.

Should the second option be your choice, please read our Terms and Conditions. By requesting arranged carriage through Custom Frames Ltd you will be agreeing to our T & C’s  set out at the bottom of this page.

Whilst we are always pleased to arrange carriage on behalf of our clients, we do this as a courtesy service. If loss or damage occurs once the parcels have left our premises any issues must be taken up with the carriers involved with this delivery. Custom Frames Ltd cannot accept any liability to replace or reimburse lost/damaged or late delivery of goods.

Damage must be reported within 3 days and lost items reported within 5 days

Standard insurance ( given by the carriers) on any uplifted goods is £15.00 per kilogram with an excess for the first £60 of the value. Please note glass will not be covered by any of the major carriers.

Claiming on any carriers insurance can be a lengthy and time consuming process however if a claim was to be made by our clients for an amount over the £60 excess we would fill in the relevant forms and negotiate on your behalf (as a third party you would not be able to liaise directly with the couriers) we would pass on any information and keep you informed of the progress or outcome.

Whilst we always endeavor to produce perfect framing, in the unlikely event any issues occur with goods /frames produced by us, we will always be happy to listen to our customers concerns and to rectify or adjust any work or component if found to be of fault. If goods have been collected from us or dispatched by our clients or in the event we have been requested to dispatch on their behalf, Custom Frames Ltd cannot accept any liability for carriage to return the goods back to our premises for inspection.

To avoid any issue, we would strongly recommend an inspection of any goods by our customers prior to packaging.
